How to Prevent Asthma Attack?

Asthma as we all know that is a disease caused by hypersensitivity of various allergens and if you can avoid these allergen, you can also avoid asthma attacks. So what are these Asthma Triggers?

Asthma triggers are things that can cause an asthma episode to start or make symptoms worse. Everyone’s triggers are different. Work with your doctor to identify your triggers. Most common triggers are Dust Mites, Smoking, Cockroaches, Pets flakes, Indoor Molds and Outdoor Pollens along with exercise, cold environment and few infections.

Step by Step we will see how to avoid each and every allergen or trigger.

Asthma Trigger Dust Mite:

Dust Mites are very tiny and small bugs which lives on our clothes and various parts of our house like carpet and curtains. So by they are the part of our life but at the same time it is very easy to get rid of them by using allergen proof covers to pillows and matteress, washing in hot water regularly and avoiding dusting of house.

Most effective methods to reduce dust mites are

reduce humidity in house, use air conditioner in summer, remove carpets from bed rooms, avoiding curtains.

Asthma Trigger Smoking:

It is the easiest one to avoid except sertain circuimstances. If you are allergic to smoking first of all never allow anyone to smoke in the house. If you are smoker and asthmatic it is a double trouble for you so try to quit smoking. Not only cigarette smoke but try to avoid all sorts of smoke.

Asthma Trigger Pets:

Flakes of skin and dry saliva on feather are also potentially allergic and it is advisable to avoid them. If it is possible try to avoid keeping pets in the house. But if not possible than try to avoid contact with Pets. Other thing is you can use HEPA filters in room to filter out flakes and pieces of feathers.

Asthma Trigger Indoor Mold :

Indoor Mold can be caused by the leaky water pipes in house or other sources. Clean mold from surfaces with bleach. Other things you can do are
• Replace or wash moldy shower curtains.
• Reduce dampness in the home with a dehumidifier.
• Do not use humidifiers or vaporizers.
• Limit the number of household plants.
• Avoid live evergreens used in decorating.

Weather and Pollution 

Try to avoid smoke, perfume, spray, polluted environment. Keep house environment dry and less humid. Clean the house regularly and use filters. Use heating methods in winter and air conditioner in summer.Wash and bath properly and regularly. Try to avoid contact with people who have or recently had flu or any other infection.

So these are the basic tips to keep away fro allegen and hence Asthma attacks. Apart from them there are other allergens as well so if these things doesnt help, try to find out allergen with your doctor and follow doctors advice to avoid them.
