Sleep Well at night and Lose Weight

It has been the constant worry for all fitness lovers how to lose weight? There has been lots of things you can try from dieting to exercise and even pills. But we always go for advance things and never focus on basics that also helps to reduce your weight and keep you fit. Also there are so many traditional myths that prevents you from loosing your weight.

The more you sleep, the less you are likely to weigh? You must be thinking that it’s crazy. But do let me know it is true. Good sleep in the night helps you to reduce your weight. Researches in the US report that shorter sleep duration may affect levels of two weight-control hormones: reduced levels of leptin, a hormone associated with satiety, and increased levels of ghrelin, associated with hunger.

Researchers evaluated the relationship between sleep duration and body mass index (BMI) in rural settings.The study appeared in the Archives of Internal Medicine. The subjects’ were asked about sleep duration, physical activity associated with employment, symptoms of depression, alcohol consumption and snoring. Height and weight were also measured.

The researchers found a direct relationship between a higher BMI and lesser amount of sleep. The average BMI ranged from 30.24 among people sleeping less than six hours per night, to 28.25 for those who slept more than nine hours at a time.
