Is Pot Belly high risk for Diabetes and High BP?
As such everyone is afraid of getting a pot belly but noone realize how it develops overtime and many of us can not do anything to stop it. And once it reaches to certain extent it becomes extremely difficult to reduce it. Anyway as such we all know the side effects of extra fat and its relation with hypertension and diabetes. But here is an intresting research done to define corelation between pot belly and these two diseases.
According to WHO study carried out over time has clearly showed that WHO carry most of their excess weight around the middle may be at particular risk oh high blood pressure.Even young men and women who were abdominally obese at the start of the study, or who became so over time, were more likely to be diagnosed with high blood pressure.

Research has shown that ‘apple-shaped’ people are at greater risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes than those whose extra kilograms dwell largely on the hips and thighs. Studies have also suggested that general obesity raises the risk of high blood pressure, or hypertension.
There is no single definition of abdominal define metabolic syndrome are 35 inches or more for women and 40 inches or more for men. Abdominal obesity often exists as part of a cluster of conditions known collectively as metabolic syndrome – the other components being abnormal cholesterol levels, hypertension and insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes.
