Cervical Cancer- Causes, Signs, Symptoms
As such no cancer has exactly known etiology so we do not know the exact cause of cervical cancer but certain risk factors puts you at more risk of developing cervical cancer. These risk factors have been already covered in earlier pages. To summarize again multiple se partener, early age of first sex, sexually transmitted diseases like human papilloma virus, smoking and oral contraceptive pills.
Symptoms of cervical cancer
Usually in the early stage of cervical cancer do not produce any signs or symptoms but once the cancer cells starts invading nearby tissues following symptoms may appear:
- Abnormal bleeding
- Heavier, long-lasting periods
- Unusual vaginal discharge
- Pelvic pain
- Abnormal bleeding after intercourse, inbetween menstrual period or after pelvic examination
Remember these symptoms are not always because of cervical cancer and there are other diseases as well which can give similar symptoms and signs. So getting expert advice is advisable before coming to any conclusion.
